UNIZIk Now Research and Development Oriented

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph E. Ahaneku has reiterated the commitment of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University to promoting the culture of research in all areas of its programmes in line with the traditional mandate of universities and allied institutions.

The VC made the firm statement in the course of conducting the activities involved in hosting the 6th Edition of Nigerian Universities Research and Development Fair.

Prof. Ahaneku, who displayed hearty excitement and enthusiasm while busy working round the clock as the exhibition lasted, said that research and development go a long way in determining the real quality of a University. According to him, in consonance with the institution’s determined pursuit of excellence, the Management is set to restore and sustain those indispensable qualities of a university that can measure up  to the current  global standard. He explained that the University is not sparing anything in terms of human and material resources in that direction, pointing out that research and development moves towards establishing effective solutions for problems.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation to the National Universities Commission for the encouragement it is giving to that pivotal obligation of universities. He described it as very good as it is engendering healthy competition among institutions in Nigeria. He extended his whole-hearted thanks to the other participating universities.
