Legacy University Okija To be Mentored by UNIZIK VC

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has appointed the Vice-Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku FAS as a mentor of Legacy University Okija, Anambra State.  The appointment according to the NUC is as a result of the trust and confidence of the National University Commission on the University Vice-Chancellor.

Receiving a letter of Academic Mentorship during a courtesy visit by members of the Legacy University Planning Implementation Committee (PIC) led by the Chairman, Dr. Leo Nkameme charged them to always seek the right directives when needed.  He admonished members of the Planning Implementation Committee (PIC) to always identify, recreate and redefine programmes that will benefit the people and help in solving societal problems.

He advised members of the Committee to make the right choices in staffing, introduction of University programmes and in other academic endeavours.  Prof. Ahaneku also enjoined the members of the board to submit the University template in order to facilitate proper administration and mentorship.

He encouraged them to work hard towards achieving the set down goals of the University.

The Legacy University’s Chairman, PIC Dr. Leo Nkameme expressed appreciation to the UNIZIK Vice-Chancellor for accepting the request by the National University Commission and pledged that the University will cooperate with the Vice-Chancellor.

Dr. Nkameme also expressed optimism that mentorship of UNIZIK will yield fruitful and positive value that will promote the growth and development of the University.

Also present at the courtesy visit were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Charles Esimone, the Director, Information and Public Relations/Chief Protocol of the University, Dr. Emmanuel C. Ojukwu.
