2 Unizik Students Suspended over Internet Post, Theft

Authorities of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has approved the suspension of 2 students of the university over various offences.

Management at its 334th Regular meeting held on Monday, 6th of February, 2017 considered the report of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee on the posting of an internet publication capable of disrupting the peace of the University and noted that evidence shows that Eweama, Samuel C. of the Department of Computer Sciences published insulting and threatening messages to the Vice-Chancellor, the University Community and members of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) Executive.

Consequent upon the above, the Management directed that he should be suspended from the University for two academic sessions and he is, hereby, suspended accordingly with effect from 5th November, 2016.

Also, Management at the same meeting considered the report of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee on a case of stealing of a Laptop in which Odigbo, Chijoke Emmanuel of the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Faculty of Engineering was indicted and found culpable.

Consequently upon the above, Management directed that he should be suspended for one year and he is hereby, suspended accordingly with effect from 5th November, 2016.

  • It’s sad, but discipline and total compliance to the rule of law without baise should be encouraged to serve as warning to others.
