JAMB Stops Use of Scratch Cards for UTME Registration, Publish New Payment Methods.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has announced new payment methods for services rendered by the examination body, especially the 2017/2018 session Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration.

This is coming after the board discontinued the use of scratch cards to access services on the JAMB portal.

According to a statement released by the JAMB’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the new payment methods will include online payment via Interswitch (Visa, Mastercard,verve), POS, ATM, Quickpay at the Bank and Quickteller.

Benjamin stated that the board has not started the sale of its 2017 admission application form.

He said that the board would adequately sensitise the public before the sale begin, warning prospective candidates against falling victims of fraudsters.

The JAMB official added that the board has met with heads of other public examination bodies to fine tune examination schedules in order to avoid infringement on its examinations.

Dr. Benjamin stated that the board did not want candidates to be stranded during examination due to clashes in dates of their various external examinations.

The meeting took place on Tuesday, 17th January with the Head of National Office (HNO) of WAEC, the Registrars of NECO and NABTEB in attendance.
