Engineering Faculty Honours Hardworking Members

Staff of the Faculty of Engineering recently gathered at a memorable occasion to celebrate and reward hardworking members who have contributed to the development of the Faculty.

In his welcome address, Dean, Faculty of Engineering Prof. C. C. Ihueze stated that the occasion was to reward distinguished members in a bid to encourage hardwork among staff of the Faculty.

In his speech, former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Acad) Prof. Sam Omenyi stated that retirees should be thankful to God because it is a privilege and opportunity to rest after such a long service to humanity. He advised those still in service to work hard as it is part of God’s commandment. Prof. Omenyi concluded by admonishing everyone present to imbibe the spirit of hardwork.

Meritorious award was given to former Dean of the Faculty Prof. (Mrs.) P.K. Igbokwe, former Faculty Officer, Mrs. Chika Okoye and Engr. A. O. Azubuogu. Redeployed staff and retirees of the Faculty were also recognized.

Speaking on behalf of the recipients, former Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Mrs. P. K. Igbokwe thanked the Faculty for finding them worthy for the award. She also urged members of the Faculty to maintain the good working relations that exists between them. Finally, she prayed God to bless and strengthen them in the dispensation of their duties.

Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of plagues/gifts to the recipients by the Dean Prof. C.C. Ihueze.
