Refund Post UTME fees, Minister orders Universities

Information reaching us at the moment has it that the minister of education, Prof Adamu has reiterated his call for the total cancellation of Post Utme screening and went ahead to instruct all higher institutions that conducted any screening examination to immediately refund money collected from candidates for the exercise, threatening to sanction any institution caught still conducting the exam.

The minister insisted that only the Joint Admissions And Matriculation Board (JAMB) has the sole right to admit students into any institution, therefore aspirants should not be subjected to any further test after JAMB UTME.

“Those who have already advertised for the conduct of the Post-UTME under any guise should stop the exercise immediately as any university caught conducting Post-UTMNE will face appropriate sanctions. If any tertiary Institution has already conducted Post-UTME, such an exercise stands annulled and money taken from such candidates must be refunded immediately”, the Minister said.

We now await official information from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University authorities to understand how the institution plans to admit students this year.
