Popular research scientist, Prof Andy Crumpt, visited the Nnamdi Azikiwe university vice chancellor recently. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ahaneku has expressed appreciation to Prof. andy Crumpt and other members of his team for winning a research grant for the University. The Vice-Chancellor made his expressions known when members of the team led by Prof. Crumpt visited his office recently. Prof. Ahaneku while congratulating the team for attracting such health grant, emphasized that the vision and mission of the University is to transform the society through science and technology and that science and technology are the driving engines for economic empowerment.
The Vice-Chancellor while describing the visit of Prof. Crumpt and the research grant as a scientific evolution, stressed that the research grant will help in strengthening human capital development through science.
Responding, the visiting benefactor commended members of the University for their collaboration and for extending their hands of fellowship. He expressed hope that the exchange will yield favourable result academically and help in promoting a meaningful sustainable development in the country.
Prof. Crumpt was accompanied by his wife Kyoko Ito, Prof. O. c. Nwaigu, Prof. B. E. B. Nwoke (Imo State University, Owerri), Prof. Uche Amazigo, Prof. O. N. Nkaga (Imo State University) and Prof. Murphy Nwoke (Imo State University Owerri).
